First Commit

Scenario

A friend sent you their portfolio site as a plain folder: a README, a page and a stylesheet. It has never been under version control. There is also a debug.log their editor keeps rewriting, which has no business in a repository.

Mission

Put the project under Git with a single commit holding the site, keep debug.log out of history for good, and leave a clean working tree.

Objectives

0/5
  1. The folder is a Git repository. (Current objective)
  2. index.html is committed. (Not started)
  3. History has exactly one commit. (Not started)
  4. debug.log is not tracked by Git. (Not started)
  5. The working tree is clean, so debug.log is ignored rather than just left out. (Not started)
